The Church
were Joan of Arc was baptised

The
architecture
The church has undergone some
transformations over the centuries.
Among these took place a change in orientation in 1824 :
the archway above the portal used to show the entrance of
the choir.
When the walls were scraped in 1956, ancient windows
appeared on each side of the portal, the only one dating
from the origin of the church.
The window on the right hand side has kept its muilion
and its flowered tympanum.
Outside the church, a turret gives access to the bell
tower and the attics.
Inside the church, three low naves and their vaults were
rearranged in 1582. 1698, and 1904.
Two spans have been added forming a transept in the front
of the choir with three neo-gothic stained glass window.

The
treasures
The
stoup to the right of the entrance dates from the XIIIth
century.
Behind the pillar, there is a fresco of San Sebastien
dated 1586, next to a statue of Saint Margaret in front
of which Joan would come to pray.
On each side of the choir, there are two "retable"
altars from the end of the XVIth century.
In the left transept stands the baptismal font upon which
Joan was baptised.
On the wall an ornate tombstone with the coat-of arms of
the Thiesselin brothers, descendants of one of Joan's
godmothers, can be seen.
On the way out, the " last breath", created in
Carrara marbte by the sculptor Real del Sarte can be
found ; the pedestal contains earth from the pyre of
Rouen.

The

After
being damaged in 1940 they were replaced by new stained

They
depict the major events of Joan's life.
